Dr.
Joseph Bilello, AIA, is the Dean and Professor of Architecture at
the College of Architecture and Planning, at Ball State University.
Dr. Bilello was formerly Associate Dean for Research, Coordinator
of the Post Professional Program, and Director of the Architectural
Research Center at the Texas Tech University College of Architecture.
Prior to that, he served
as Director of Educational Programs and the National Architects
in Education Committee for the American Institute of Architects.
He has taught at Ball State University, Texas Tech University. The
Catholic University of America, the University of New Mexico, California
College of Arts and Crafts, and King Faisal University in Saudi
Arabia. Dr. Bilello also served as a visiting critic at numerous
other institutions.
He has been a frequent
lecturer at universities and professional conferences on his research
work on design decision-making, sustainable community development,
building performance particular to windstorm mitigation design,
historic preservation, and architectural education.
Dr. Bilello has served
on the Boards of Directors for the Association of Collegiate Schools
of Architecture, Architectural Centers, and Research Centers Consortium.
The Initiative for Architectural Research, Minnetrista Cultural
Center, Indianapolis Regional Development, the Indiana Architectural
Foundation, and others.
Dr, Bilello holds degrees
from the University of Pennsylvania, Washington University, and
University of Maryland.
